Canals & Trails Credit Union:
Our mission is to provide ultimate member satisfaction and we believe
Canals & Trails Credit Union was established in 1959 as Lockport Schools Credit Union. As the community grew and the population expanded, Lockport Schools Credit Union changed its name to Tri-Township Schools Federal Credit Union. In addition to serving school districts in Lockport, Romeoville, Bolingbrook, Crest Hill, Homer Glen, Lemont, and Plainfield, the credit union also serves many local businesses and government groups.
in the philosophy of "People helping people."
In 2002, the credit union underwent a major change in our field of membership. In order to grow and thrive in the future, the credit union converted from a federal charter to a state charter and then obtained a community charter. In an era of financial institution's mergers, Canals & Trails Credit Union is committed to remaining an independent financial institution that provides high-quality service to our members.
We are a well capitalized credit union with over 2,750 members and $20.5 million in assets. We carry federal share insurance with the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) up to $250,000.
